The Lounge Chair

Made to order in limited numbers, The Lounge Chair was our second furniture project and referenced The Day Bed - a one-off piece we designed in 2016 as a focal point for our studio store.

Produced entirely in Glasgow by Lewis Macleod of HAME, the chair was offered in either American Walnut or Scottish Oak, paired with bead-blast stainless steel arms and a choice of three upholstery options: grey melton wool, tan calf leather, or green Italian boucle.

A small removable plinth extending from a stainless steel arm offered space for a coffee cup or book, neatly adding an additional level of functionality.

For the second edition of chairs, we designed a matching ottoman that can be stored underneath the frame of the chair when not in use.

We commissioned filmmakers Pretend Lovers to document the process of making the Lounge Chair, shadowing Lewis Macleod (HAME) as he built the first run of chairs in his Glasgow workshop. The result is two beautifully divergent films that can be watched here, and here.
